Lewiston, New York is the center of the Congregation’s activities in the United States. Purchased in July 1974, the building was in excellent condition, and with the addition of living quarters, the perfect place from which the Sisters could serve the community was established. The Villa not only houses the Sisters, but also accommodates their Private Elementary School – grades Kindergarten through Fifth and Preschool. The Sisters of the Sacred Heart , now serving the community for 50 years, have prepared over 700 children for their First Holy Communion and have educated over 3000 students in the elementary grades. Young women sincerely interested in consecrating themselves to the service of God spend their period of formation at the Novitiate, also found at the Villa. Since 1985, some young women from different parts of the world have joined the Sisters at Villa and have consecrated themselves as Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Since then, they have continued the mission of educating the young children at Sacred Heart Villa School. The Congregation has grown to over 900 Sisters world-wide and has seen its Mother Foundress, Maria Schinina` beatified on November 4, 1990.
